Asheville is the largest city in Western North Carolina with a population of approximately 70,000 in the city and 215,000 in the county.                               

Asheville's airport is the largest airport in Western North Carolina.  It has both commuter and jet airlines.  It is located about 15 miles south of downtown Asheville.
